I need to leave town and visit my family for a few days. I was going to spend some time at Nekocon, but after all the childishness that I saw from their staff here on Deviantart, I think I'm just going to relax at home and play on the beach. C:

I'll be around if I can get my hands on a laptop, or if I'm  not busy and can use my phone to browse and post around, but I won't be able to get any art done. However, since Blizzcon I've gotten caught up on about twenty small commissions and three large commissions, so trust me I'm trying to get back on track! SO. For Kiriban 60k I had a poll going to see what I would do to celebrate it. The majority of you requested a contest, and a contest you will get! Within the next week I will be randomly selecting one person from my friends and followers to request one picture of their choice to be created.

I am going to Blizzcon!

As of right now, I'm trying to set up a plan for traveling to various cons this year, and so far all I have is Blizzcon, Nekocon, Otakon and hopefully a few others, though I'm  not sure as far as scheduling goes. Getting the money to do all of this, however, is...really daunting. XD Still, I am going to try really hard and I hope I'll be able to meet some great people along the way!

I still need to gather some funds, so if anyone has any ideas about what you'd like to see offered, or some suggestions, I'm happy to hear them!

My computer is broken, but thankfully I've been given a backup. (Hooray friends! ) It's slow, but compared to nothing it's amazing. Plus I can still play Warhammer, Magic the Gathering Online and paint.

One last note is that I am considering setting up a set night for Livestream every week. Not sure which days would be best just yet, but hopefully in a week I'll have a better idea about my schedule.

I can't believe it, but PayPal is finally set up so that I can take commissions.
I still don't quite understand the entire thing, but the key points are there and I should be used to it soon. ( with a bit more reading, I think. ) Now, of course, comes the issue of pricing ( along with rules, the number of commissions I should take, what I'll offer and the like. ) Since I used to take on gaia commissions, I'm not overwhelmed with the whole thing, but it is still going to take me a little while to get things sorted out.

I realized that art is something I want to take a more prominent role in my life, and no matter what happens with my current job situation, I will be happy if I am able to at least feel like I am a part time artist. I sadly did also find out that our hours are being cut again at work, though I can't say it is coming as a surprise.

In other words, my friends, if you haven't gathered this already, or don't feel like reading too much...Soon there will be commissions!

Well, trust me, I play both sides, and I love both sides...In fact, I'd much rather risk my life to help an opposing player, then try to kill him....But this is not a good day for friendly cooperation.

Those of you who are active Warcraft players, I'm sure you know that the portals have opened. This now gives us a fun opportunity to gear up for the Expansion pack, yay.

Well, on Blackhand server, we had a bit of a monopoly. Actually, more than a bit...
There were about 50 horde all camped right at the portal, constantly streaming AoE effects. Not a big deal, right? Well, take into account that 40% of all those horde were flagged for PvP combat, all waiting for one of us poor 30 or so Alliance to make a fatal error of hitting the tab key, trying to AoE, or using a multiple hit ability in order to gain the claim for a monster...I sat there for about 30 minutes carefully tagging everything that I could, which all turned out to be wasted by just killing some Horde player's mob...In the time spent there, the Horde had effectively slain countless numbers of Demons -- the Alliance came in close second, with a grand total of 0, and a multitude of much needed armor repairs because of deaths from being flagged accidentally.  

The whole fiasco ended for me, when I thought I had the chance to snag a monster out of the corner of the portal, when I mistargeted and fired a single shot at a flagged mage. He, in turn, blinked over to me, and proceded, along with every other Horde player who wasn't killing something, to bash me into oblivion. Hooray, hope you feel good about yourselves.

Maybe it's just me, but isn't PvP combat on a PvE server supposed to be something you choose to do....could be wrong, but hey.

You know, at first, hearing about this subject really didn't bother me....It's just another one of those things that Blizzard does, where people end up crying and complaining because they have no lives, and couldn't stand it if *insert completely mundane and trivial object here* wasn't in the game. I'd hate to say it, but Blizzard usually has a good reason for doing something like that...Maybe they're wrong, or misguided, but with all that time whining you could be learning how to play your class all over again so you won't get your butt kicked because *blank* isn't the same. (Yeah I know, I kid....but sometimes it's nothing to joke about, when some people take these things too seriously.)

But this is a subject where even I have to go "wtf" on....and I'm a pretty hard girl to piss off.

Blood Elf men, since the first beta test, have become steroid users and beefed up.

...Big deal, huh? lol. Well, it really wouldn't matter, if I hadn't found out why it happened.
Check this out:

"As many players have noticed, we have made a slight change to the male Blood Elf character models

In response to concerns that the Blood Elf male appeared to be too feminine, and after reviewing the model from a visual and conceptual standpoint, the decision was made to increase the body mass to give them a more substantial, masculine feel.

It was also important that as members of the Horde that the Blood Elves gave the impression of strength and a more menacing presence. Please be aware that all beta content is still subject to testing and can change at any time."

Okay uh...what? So wait a minute....Too feminine looking...? So a guy isn't a world-class bodybuilder and suddenly he's feminine? Wow...I had no idea all average guys were girly. Oh, oh no I get it...You changed it in response to complaints! I understand! I bet they were extremely good arguments expressing how Blood Elf men are natural born fighters, who train for hours a day, in the art of-- Oh wait...that's right. Blood Elves are magic users, who are the only race unable to become warriors! So apparently all Horde mages need to bulk up to fit their required 300-pounds-of-pure-muscle-image...guess the Undead better start beefing up too.
So what great complaints did Blizzard recieve from their readers? Let's see here....

"flamboyant" "feminine" "gay" "blood elf men now look like realistic men" (Yeah, I'm sure you look like a pro wrestler in real life...) "too-pretty"

........wow. That just hurt my brain. Their arguments are 'because Blood Elf men look gay'? Hold it right there. I could understand if Blizzard went with it because their traditional style was always to have a more muscular build...but not because a few homophobic teenagers/adults feel that they're "flaming". And what else do they want? Oh, now they're requesting changing the emotes. voice acting, and running/jumping style? Tell you what, why don't they just scrap the entire Blood Elf race and make them look like orcs. Because giant sweaty men, who wear very little clothing, are not at all gay.

You know what? All of you Beta testers who complained out of homophobia, can just bite me. It's already unfair that men can stare at jiggling boobs and perfect bodies all day, while us women have to glance at your characters that seriously look like Quasimodo on steroids.
